Welcome to the Permaculture Association Blog

You can find a wealth of news and knowledge that follows the work of members and partners.

A fantastic time was had at the Permaculture Scotland gathering in Coldstream by the over 80 attendees from across Scotland and Northern England. There were many interesting and thought provoking workshops, tours of the UK's oldest intentional food Forest Garden at Garden Cottage; fun, games and crafts for the kids and The Permaculture Scotland SGM.

"The system of Permaculture design is an appropriate and well-defined model for teaching and implementing the goals of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)."

The First international congress on the AgroFloresta method will be held on 6-12 June. It will be FREE and ONLINE. Language: Brasilian Portuguese.

There are many examples of organisational systems in nature. From the self-organisation of molecules to form crystals, or entrancing displays of a murmuration of starlings, to the stigmergic communications of ants and the growth of a whole animal from just two starting cells. Can we use these ideas to improve the permaculture system? Are there simple tools that will help us to benefit more easily from interactions with other practitioners in and beyond permaculture, and so become more effective in what we do?
